It's important to dedicate someone in your practice to play the role of implementation team lead, essentially a project manager. The best person for the job is going to be someone who has a good understanding of the processes throughout the entire practice, is well-respected by the team, has strong communication skills, and has the ability to hold staff accountable to keep everyone on track. This leader is going to be the point of contact between the software vendor and the rest of the team, so communication will be key to keeping everyone on the same page and addressing questions and concerns about the implementation and training process.
Not Dedicating Time for Training
A lack of training if one of the biggest reasons practices don't get the most out of their software system. If you and your staff don't know how to use the system effectively, your workflow will suffer and your ROI on the system will plummet. While it may seem annoying or cumbersome, setting aside dedicated time for training and making it a priority for your entire team will ensure the best experience for your practice.

As an OD and decision maker in the practice, you need to set a good example for the rest of the team.
