As a corporate partner of the Opticians Association of American (OAA), VisionWeb was excited to be a part of the OAA's annual Leadership Conference this past weekend in Orlando, FL. It was a great conference spent with an awesome group of people! Not only were the presentations at the conference informative, but there was also some spare time to explore Disney World!
VisionWeb is an online ordering service for opticians and optometrists, and as a benefit to the OAA we created a Royalty Program to support the people who use our services every day. We do this by providing royalties to the OAA on orders that all OAA members place over the VisionWeb network. At the leadership conference we were able to hand out the Royalty Checks to the individual state associations who earned them allowing them to use this money at their own discretion to support programs and defray their membership costs. Last year's royalties totaled $5,570! Additionally, Florida was recognized with a bonus $1,000 for having the largest percent increase in members who were enrolled in the program!
How Can you Pitch In?
All OAA members who use VisionWeb as on online optician ordering software are eligible to participate. And, as an added bonus, any member who enrolls before March 31, 2013 will be entered to win a $150 gift card! There will also be a $1,500 bonus to the State with the largest % increase in enrollments. Enrolling your eyecare practice before March 31, 2013 will include all your past orders placed on VisionWeb since April 2012 towards your State's earnings!

- Log in to your VisionWeb Account
- Click on the OAA Royalty button on the bottom right of the screen
- Complete the form and submit
How Much Can my State Earn?
It all depends on how many orders you and other OAA members in your State place through VisionWeb's online ordering service. After your practice places 600 orders during the earning period of April through March, your practice is qualified to earn a 1% royalty on the transaction fee paid by the suppliers receiving the orders. The royalty percentage increased to 2% and 3% respectively, at annual ordering thresholds of 1,200 and 2,400 orders. Take a look at the example below:
