Upcoming Optometry Events in 2019

If you're in the growth stages of your practice, attending events can help you seek new job opportunitiesexperience software demos, learn about vision care developments, and broaden your network of OD peersMost of these events revolve around continuing education (CE) opportunities, but many of them also include mingling events and product-related exhibits.

It's a good idea to keep a calendar of upcoming events because many registration deadlines are a month or so in advance. Here are a few conferences, tradeshows, and forums on our radar for the rest of 2019. We hope we have a chance to meet you at one of the events below.

The annual meeting for the American Optometric Association includes exclusive continuing education opportunities, panels, and technology exhibits. This event is also a big opportunity for students and new graduates.

Glaucoma in the Gorge: August 10-11
Hood River, Oregon

For ODs looking to develop their knowledge of ocular therapeutics, this event includes lectures and the latest pharmaceuticals. With 10 hours of COPE approved CE, you can't go wrong. 

Vision Expo West: September 18-21
Las Vegas, Nevada

The ultimate bi-annual Vision Expo connects eye care professionals with the technology, tools, education, and products they need to succeed. Explore exhibits, attend CE lectures, and network with over 3500 of your peers.

Acadmey 2019 and 3rd World Congress of Optometry: October 23-27
Orlando, Florida

This meeting of the American Academy of Optometry and the World Council of Optometry focuses on CE as well as socializing and purchasing. They offer over 450 hours of CE and CET as well as guest lectures about the future of optometry.

Forum on Primary Eyecare: November 2-3
Atlanta, Georgia

PSS Eyecare runs regular CE programs. The Forum on Primary Eyecare includes 18 COPE and FL Board hours total over the course of two days. The lectures cover common and uncommon disorders, high tech procedures, AMD, and more.
