As sponsors and active members of the Optical Women's Association (OWA), we wanted to take the time to share with you two events the organization will be holding at Vision Expo West. If you've never been to an OWA event before, trust us, it's a good time! If you haven't yet booked your tickets for Vegas, we encourage you to do so now. Vision Expo is a great opportunity for gaining CE credits, learning about frame trends, experiencing eyecare technology first hand, and networking with colleagues at great events like these. Be sure not only to visit OWA's events, but stop by the VisionWeb booth (#MS9035) while you're there.

The OWA Connection Series: Getting Four Generations Working Together
A panel of Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, GenXers, and Millennials will get together at this Connection Series event to explore areas where generations don't always see eye to eye. The topics for discussion include, communication, feedback, work ethic, and knowledge transfer which are all discussed in the book Sticking Points: How to Get 4 Generations Working Together in the 12 Places they Come Apart, by Haydn Shaw. This interactive series will help you and your team gain insight on working with all different ages in eyecare.
You don't have to be an OWA member to attend, but if you are a member your registration to the event is free. Non-members may attend the event for $35. So if you've been thinking about joining the OWA, now is the time to do it and you'll save that $35 on your event registration! Your registration will also include a boxed lunch.
When: September 17th from 12:00pm - 1:30pm in Level 1, Marco Polo Room 804, Venetian / Palazzo Congress Center.

Networking Reception and Raffle
If you are looking for something a little more social, be sure to check out OWA's Networking Reception and Raffle Event. This event is free for both members and non-members, but be sure to RSVP ahead of time. On top of networking with your friends in the industry there will be tons of great raffle prizes for your to drop your tickets in for a chance at winning.
When: September 18th, 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Level 1: Marco Polo Room 804, Venetian/Palazzo
Who: Free to attend for both members and non members. Men and women are welcome.
